Students Must Obtain COVID Test Before Arriving to Campus for Spring Semester

In order to create the safest campus community possible, Linfield University is requiring all new and returning students, including those living off-campus, to obtain a COVID-19 test 7-10 days prior to their approved arrival date. After taking your pre-arrival COVID Test we ask that you limit your contact to those in your immediate household to avoid risk of exposure.  Results of your pre-arrival test need to be sent to the Student Health, Wellness and Counseling Center at SHLT@linfield.edu prior to your assigned arrival date.

For help finding a testing site while away from campus, contact your home health care provider or visit Linfield's COVID test resource page .  If you are unable to obtain a test 7-10 days prior to your arrival you may be required to quarantine for a time determined by the Student Health Wellness and Counseling Center according to CDC recommendations.

If your pre-arrival test is positive, please contact Patty Haddeland at phaddel@linfield.edu as your check-in date may need to be rescheduled.

Some students may have had a case of COVID during the break.  If you had a laboratory confirmed case of COVID, please provide a copy of your lab results to the Student Health, Wellness and Counseling Center at SHLT@linfield.edu and you will be exempted from COVID testing during the move-in process.

All McMinnville campus students will receive a second test when they arrive to campus for spring semester as part of the check-in process. The cost of the second test collected at Linfield University will covered by the University.

The University is requiring this two-test process in order to capture two time points in the virus incubation cycle.  This gives us a more accurate picture of your COVID status.  While you are awaiting the outcomes of your second test, we will ask students to remain in their designated spring housing (a self-quarantine) until they have been notified of their test results via e-mail for negative results.  If your test is positive you will receive a phone call from the Student Health Wellness and Counseling Center.

The two-test process is designed to create the safest environment we can. This will rely on all of us to follow all COVID policies and procedures including physical distancing and face covering policies.  In effort to limit your exposure to COVID, we are creating this “Linfield Bubble” and we ask that all students remain on campus or in their approved off campus housing during the course of the semester.

Assigned Arrival Date, Check-In Time Slot and Arrival Instructions

All returning and new students, including those living off-campus housing, must go through the check-in process and be tested for COVID-19 during check-in. Students will not be permitted to check-in prior to their assigned date and time. The University can only test about 150 students per day so it is imperative that students arrive on their assigned day. Check-in time slots have been staggered throughout the day to reduce exposure and spread of COVID-19 on campus. We are unable to approve requests for changes to arrival dates and time slots. If you have already booked your flight and it does not coincide with your approved arrival date, please try to change your flight plans now. Most airlines are allowing changes without penalty due to COVID-19.
