Student Resources

Bookstore

Linfield partners with Barnes & Noble to provide bookstore services and resources. The bookstore does not have a physical location on the Portland campus, but you can contact McMinnville's Store Manager Aaron Sloper at asloper@linfield.edu or 503-883-2505.

Breast/Chestfeeding Student Support

Linfield values breast/chestfeeding for the multitude of benefits it provides to lactating person, children, families, and communities. We recognize the unique challenges that come with being a student and a lactating person. We commit to support lactating students during their time at Linfield so that they may successfully meet their academic and lactation goals.

See the Student Policy Guide for a description of breast/chestfeeding students’ rights and the process for accessing support. Students are free to breast/chestfeed or pump anywhere on the Linfield campus. Additionally, a Lactation room is located next to the Nurses Lounge in Building 5.

We also encourage you to join Linfield Breast/Chestfeeding Student Facebook page.

Linfield Public Safety

Linfield's Linfield Public Safety office maintains a presence on campus and leads the effort to keep the campus safe. LPS officers or contracted security are on duty Monday through Friday 7 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5 p.m.-11 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Commuter Lockers

Lockers are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and are located in Building 4 (next to the Library) and Building 5 (home of Student Life). There are approximately 200 available spaces. Each locker is full-sized, with ample room to store books and bags, textbooks and extra personal items that may make your time on campus more comfortable.

If you are interested in using a locker, you are to provide your own lock of choice. Student Life and Linfield University are not responsible for the damage or theft of locks and/or personal belongings. We suggest that you choose a lock that you, personally, can easily access with a code or key. It is the student's responsibility to remember their own locker location and combination. Student Life will not be cutting locks in the event of students being unable to access lockers.

In the event that most lockers are in use, students are permitted to partner with a peer so that both parties may use one locker. This choice is up to the judgment of both students occupying the locker. Linfield will not assign locker partners, nor will Linfield be responsible for the damage or theft of locks and/or personal belongings to or by either party.

At the end of each semester, students will be reminded to clear out lockers during scheduled academic breaks. After the semester ends and following notice, Linfield will proceed to cut locks and dispose of abandoned personal items to ensure that there are available empty spaces for incoming students.

Public Transportation

Campus is accessible via the Tri-Met mass transit system. The closest stop on Max lightrail line, which runs from Hillsboro to Gresham, and to Clackamas and the Portland Airport, is the Gateway/99th Transit Center. From there, you can take Bus 23 which stops right next to campus at stops 4987 and 6716.

Fitness Benefits

Fitness Reimbursement

The fitness reimbursement is open to all gyms, fitness studios and online workouts. Students may be able to receive up to $50 in fitness reimbursements at the end of the term. Student Life will send an email out at the end of the term asking you to fill out a form and submit receipts. Please note that Student Life has a budget of $5,000 for fall and spring terms and $2,000 for summer. If we exceed that amount in requests, students will receive a percentage of their request. For example, if we receive requests for $6,000 in reimbursements, each student would get 83% of their request (5,000/6,000).
