IX. Policies and procedures
The university has developed the following policies and procedures to aid in grant seeking and grant administration:
- Eligibility to Apply for Grants - Describes who at Linfield is eligible to apply for grants that are awarded to the university.
- Financial Conflict of Interest Policy for Federally Funded Research - Enables the university to promote objectivity in research in compliance with federal regulations.
- Grant Expenses Policy and Procedure - Helps faculty understand the processes for expending grant funds.
- Indirect Cost Policy - Provides a definition of indirect costs and includes our federally negotiated rates for inclusion in proposal budgets.
- Procurement Policies Required for Federal Grants - Provides useful information for following federal requirements in procuring supplies, equipment, real property, and other services with federal funds.
- Proposal Approval Policy and Procedure - Describes the process by which faculty and staff receive approvals for proposals to be submitted whether the award goes to the institution or an individual.
- Responsible Conduct of Research Policy and Procedure - Explains the policy of the National Science Foundation (NSF) to provide ethics training for students engaged in NSF-funded research and how to be compliant at Linfield University.
- Research Misconduct Policy - Provides guidance on the procedures for reporting and investigating alleged research misconduct by Linfield employees.
- Sexual Harassment Policy - Explains Linfield's obligation to report sexual harassment findings and allegations to the National Science Foundation.
- Time and Effort Reporting Policy and Procedure - Guides faculty and staff in reporting work effort for time spent on grant-funded projects and research.
