First year advising

Incoming students are supported in their transition to Linfield through connections with a faculty advisor and peer mentor.

New first-year students are assigned a faculty advisor who is teaching one of the courses they enroll in for their first semester. New transfer students will be assigned a faculty advisor in the discipline the student plans to pursue at Linfield.

New students regularly meet with their assigned faculty advisor and peer mentor throughout the semester to learn how to successfully transition to college, understand the liberal arts, Linfield Curriculum, and degree requirements and confidently approach academic planning and registration.

Students are connected with their peer mentor before arriving at Linfield and will receive support in selecting and registering for courses for their first semester. Students meet their peer mentor and faculty advisor during  New Student Orientation.
