Welcome to Linfield! We look forward to having you join the Linfield Community. Here you'll find information about what you can expect during your first few days on campus. 

 

Please note that participation in ALL orientation events is expected.

Orientation Schedule for New Students

Friday, February 3rd

  • 9am - 5pm Campus Resources Open

    For new students, and families.

    The Office of Financial Aid, the Registrar, Learning Support Services, Residence Life, and Academic Advising will be open at this time for students and families to drop in and ask questions.

    Melrose Lower Level (garden level).

  • 9 - 11am Check-In & Settle In

    Check-in for new students and families.

    All new and transfer students should check in at Melrose Lower Level. Students will pick up their ID card, mail and room keys, and check-in packet. Students living off campus should also check in during this time.

    Settle in for new students and families.

    Students will move into their assigned campus housing (if applicable), settle in and become familiar with their new space.

  • 11am - 12pm Student Tours & Family Q&A

    Campus tours for new students.

    Students will participate in this campus tour to learn where their classes will be held as well as other important locations on campus.

    Starting at Melrose Lower Level (garden level)

     

    Welcome and Q&A time for family of new students.

    Family members will learn more about academic and student life at Linfield and will have time to ask questions.

  • 12 -12:30pm Student & Family Good-Byes

    Family says good-bye to their student for now.  

  • 12:30 - 1pm Student Lunch

    For new students. 

    Lunch will be provided for students. Food catered by Sodexo, who also runs Dillin dining hall and will be buffet style. For any dietary needs or considerations, please make the Registrar's office aware before orientation day.

  • 1 - 1:45pm New Student Welcome

    For new students.

    Join us for a formal welcome. Students will meet members of their new community as well as the University President, Dr. Miles Davis.

  • 2 - 2:30 Learning Support Services Session

    For new students.

    Students will be introduced to academic coaches, learning resources, and tutoring options to assist with knowledge and growth while they are a Linfield student.

  • 2:30 - 3pm Student Central Open House

    For new students.

    Coffee and cookies will be provided. This time is to allow students to get to know student central resources on campus.

  • 3 - 5pm Group & Individual Academic Advising Meetings

    For new students.

    With Academic Advising, students will learn more about academics and advising at Linfield and what to expect in their first semester. This will also include time to ask questions and get familiar with their advisor.

  • 6 - 8pm Evening Community Activity

    For new students.

    Students will gather in the game room to enjoy community, and free pizza. The game room has everything from ping pong, pool and airhockey to arcade and video game consoles.
