The Economics department has established recommended academic guidelines for students interested in enrolling in ECON 210: Principles of Economics.

Departmental Quantitative Advisory and Requirement Advisory

Students enrolling in economics courses must demonstrate the following quantitative prerequisites:

  1. To enroll in PRINCIPLES OF ECONOMICS (ECON 210) a student is strongly advised to have done one of the following:
    1. completed a high school mathematics course sequence covering material equivalent to FINITE MATHEMATICS WITH CALCULUS (MATH 160); or
    2. completed or be simultaneously enrolled in FINITE MATHEMATICS WITH CALCULUS (MATH 160) or CALCULUS I (MATH 170), or the equivalent.
