General information

Admission to the program

You can call from anywhere in the USA call toll free 1-800-452-4176, and we will connect you with an advisor who is knowledgeable about the degree or certificate program you are considering.

Prior college coursework is not required for admission. Most college credits with grades of C and higher from regionally accredited colleges will apply toward a Linfield degree.

Registered Nurses with an Associate Degree in Nursing:

As an RN with an unencumbered license and prior success in college courses where you have maintained a 2.75 or higher grade point average, it’s easy for you to get started in the Online RN to BSN program at Linfield. Call toll free 800-452-4176 to get started or apply online.

RNs joining the Summer cohort are required to complete the RN-BSN online orientation.

You may complete the online fall orientation August 31 - September 6. Your participation in the online orientation is tracked for completion. Further instructions will be sent to you upon your registration for NURS 308.

Integrated Experiential Learning (IEL) Course:

In the final course of the RN to BSN program, there is a Service Learning experience. The Service Learning activity is completed in the local community and is uniquely suited to the mission of Linfield University and to the community-based philosophy of the nursing curriculum.  The Service Learning experience is an approach to nursing leadership in the community that explores non-traditional sites and diverse experiences that provide valuable preparation for health promotion, cultural awareness, and leadership in our global community. Students have the opportunity to travel abroad to complete the Service Learning experience if they choose.

How to Register

All students with a CatNet account should register on WebAdvisor. Others please review our Admission and Registration Information. You may add and drop classes on WebAdvisor until the first day of classes.

Adding and dropping courses

Add and drop classes on WebAdvisor until the term begins or by completing the “Add/Drop Form”. Please do not contact the instructor if you wish to add a class. Contact your advisor instead. According to University Policy, students may not enroll in a course after 10 days have passed in a semester.

Fall: Withdrawing From All Courses Except Field Based

If you withdraw from class by 5:00pm pdt September 23 no notation will appear on your transcript. If you withdraw from a fall class after September 23 and by 5:00pm pt November 11 a “W” will appear on your transcript. No withdrawal is permitted after November 11.

Withdrawing from field-based courses

If you drop a field-based class after the first class meeting, no notation will appear on your transcript. If you drop a field-based class on the day of the second meeting, a “W” will appear on your transcript. Withdrawal from a field-based class is not permitted after the second class meeting.

Financial aid

Financial aid is available to students who meet student eligibility requirements and are enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate seeking program. Students must be admitted to the College prior to receiving a financial aid award. New OCE student’s will receive an award packet by mail and continuing OCE student’s will receive an email notification to review their award letter in WebAdvisor. In order to be eligible for Federal Direct Stafford Loans (subsidized/unsubsidized) the student must be enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester and those credits must be applicable to their program of study.

Complete these steps to receive your financial aid award notification:

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®), with Linfield’s Title IV federal school code: 003198
Complete the Linfield Application for Financial Aid (LAFA) located on WebAdvisor
Submit other documents as requested by the Office of Financial Aid

If your accepted financial aid creates a credit balance on your Student Account, you have the option to charge your books to your Student Account, by purchasing your books through the Linfield Bookstore. The Student Accounts/Cashier Office will notify the Bookstore of any students eligible each semester. Contact the Bookstore at bookstore@linfield.edu or 503.883.2240.

If your financial aid does not cover all of your student account balance (bill) you may make a check or money order payable to Linfield College and mail to Linfield College, Student Accounts/Cashier Office, 900 SE Baker Street, McMinnville, Oregon 97128 or make an online payment through Tuition Management System (TMS). For additional information about your statement of account or payment options contact the Student Accounts/Cashier Office at student.accounts@linfield.edu or 503.883.2241.

Online payment through Student Self Service

The payment deadline is the first day of the semester or term. A late fee will be applied to all student accounts with an unpaid balance which is not covered by pending financial aid from the current term. In addition, a 1% finance charge will be applied to all accounts not paid within 30 days of the due date. 

Payment plan

Linfield University offers many methods for resolving your tuition bill helping to make your education affordable.  Most students use a combination of financial aid, payment plans and other methods to resolve their tuition bill.  If you need help finding a solution please do not hesitate to contact the Student Accounts or Financial Aid Office for additional help. 

Veterans’ benefits

Linfield College has been approved by the VA for veterans pursing a degree. For active duty reserves (Chapter 1606), Chapter 30 or 35, submit your 1995 form to the VA Certifying Official at Linfield College. For Chapter 31 submit form 1905 and for Chapter 33, Post 911, please submit your Certificate of Eligibility. VA payments are based on your Chapter and length of service. Trade adjustment assistance act

The Linfield College Online and Continuing Education Program participates in workforce training via the Trade Adjustment Assistance Act and is on the Oregon Eligible Training Provider List.
