Advising Council

The Advising Council is a committee that provides guidance to the Director regarding academic advising processes and practice, how best to support faculty advisors, and strategies for improving academic advising at Linfield.

Charge:

  • Be a sounding board for modifying existing and/or establishing new advising practices at Linfield.
  • Act as a conduit for raising awareness of advising related successes, concerns, gaps, and issues between Linfield faculty and the Academic Advising Program.
  • Assess all aspects of academic advising as it is currently practiced at Linfield and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist the Academic Advising Program in ensuring that faculty advisors are knowledgeable in and follow best practices in the field of academic advising as appropriate to Linfield.
  • Help guide the Director of Academic Advising in strategic planning efforts around academic advising.
