Getting started with Kaltura
Purpose of the guide: Why and how to use it
Kaltura is Linfield’s streaming media server, and this guide will help you get started using the most common tools. Kaltura is designed to be much more than an online storage receptacle of your videos. Kaltura provides Kaltura Capture as an easy way to create your own screencasting videos that can be uploaded and easily embedded in a blackboard course.
Linfield's streaming server is secured and accessible only to faculty and members of your course(s).

With Kaltura you can preview, upload, and place your media files from inside your blackboard courses.

Kaltura Capture
Kaltura Capture is a set of tools for creating audio, video and presentation media.

My media
My Media allows you to work with videos without being in a specific course. You can find My Media linked from the My Blackboard page, which takes you to your Kaltura media collection and the Capture Space tools.

Closed captioning
You are able to have closed captions created through machine transcription for about 70-80% accuracy. You will need to clean up the closed captioning to improve the accuracy. Closed captioning can be beneficial to all students for many reasons.
