Summer 2023 Housing Information

Thank you for your interest in Summer '23 housing. Please see below for important Summer '23 housing information.

*Please note: Summer '23 housing is only available for returning Linfield students. Incoming Linfield students (i.e. students who begin their Linfield career in the Fall 2023 semester) are NOT eligible for Summer '23 housing. 

Important Dates

April 18th - Summer Housing Application Opens for Returning Students

May 5th - Summer Housing Application Deadline

May 12th -  Summer Housing Placement Selection

June 3rd - Summer Housing Opens

August 5th -  Summer Housing Closes

*Please note: In order to ensure a timely transition from Spring term to Summer, and from Summer to Fall term, all Summer residents are expected to be able to move housing locations in a timely fashion. Residents should be prepared to move during early-June and late-July to their new housing location.

Cost

Standard Summer Housing - $1,450

University Sponsored Employee/Research (20+ hours/week) - $535

*Note, that there is no meal service during the summer season and students are responsible for securing their own food.

Placement

For the 2023 summer season, the following buildings will be available as Summer Housing options: 382 College Ave, 1155 Blaine St, Newby Hall, Grover Hall, and Potter Hall.

Please note that housing will have a limited selection of buildings will be available for summer student housing to allow for Summer conferences and events. 

Preferential placement is given to those students moving into what will be their Fall housing assignment and our staff will do our best to minimize the moves each student must make. Housing placement for summer housing will take place on May 12th.

FAQ

Am I able to move into my Fall housing assignment for summer?

If your Fall housing assignment is being used for summer housing then you will have preferential placement there. If it is not being used for summer housing we will move you to one of the locations listed above and then have you move over to your Fall assignment in August.

Can I stay in my current Spring housing for the summer?

If you are currently in a building that is being used for summer housing then you will have preferential placement to stay there as we would like to minimize transitions. If you current building is not being used for summer housing we will move you to one of the locations listed above.

Is there a meal plan/service during Summer?

No, there is no meal plan or meal service provided during the summer. Students may use the provided hall kitchens or apartment kitchens to cook food.

What University resources are available during Summer?

During Summer our resources on campus are limited. We do have a member of staff on-call for emergencies, but many of the traditional resources (Student Health Center, Athletic Facilities, etc) may be unavailable.

I just graduated Linfield in Spring '23. Am I eligible to stay in Summer '23 Housing?

Yes! Summer housing is available to students who graduated in the Spring of '23. Any student who will not be on campus for the Fall '23 semester (i.e. recently graduated students or migrating to the Portland campus, students going abroad, or not returning to Linfield in the Fall) must be moved out of Summer Housing by the closing deadline.
