A new semester starts August 29 for Linfield's on-campus students, with OCE starting on Sept. 6 and accelerated calendar programs on Sept. 12. Whether you are starting today or in the next few weeks, here are our "Top 8" back-to-school reminders to start the year off great.

1) Glossary of terms

Not sure what someone just referenced in class or a meeting? Check out the Linfield online glossary and bookmark it for future use.

2) Keep your Linfield ID on you

Wear and/or display your Linfield ID when you are on the McMinnville or Portland campuses. While Portland campus students are used to swiping/showing ID for building access, the McMinnville campus updated its building security starting August 29.

3) Get involved!

See what's happening on campus or online via Linfield's Portland and McMinnville campus calendars. Planning an event? Be sure to add it to 25Live to let people know!

4) Wildcat Guardian and CatAlert

Download the Wildcat Guardian app and make sure your CatAlert information is current.

5) Ask how to say names

Make the Linfield community a welcoming place to be. If you're not sure how to pronounce a name ... just ask! Watch this video featuring Linfield's Gerardo Ochoa to learn more.

6) COVID-19 updates

While Linfield has a high vaccination rate, COVID-19 still exists! Visit linfield.edu/covid for the most up-to-date information including: what to do if you test positive, what are the face covering guidelines on campus, FAQs and much more. 

7) Monkeypox information

In a similar vein, monkeypox spreads through close skin-to-skin contact. Visit Oregon Health Authority (OHA) for more information about monkeypox and its symptoms.
