ENGL/RELS-398  Narratives of Religious Pluralism in Palestine/Israel

Exploration and appreciation of religious pluralism narratives in Palestine/Israel. Study of the three Abrahamic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, their holiest religious/historical sites in the region, and the stories they tell about themselves and each other. Examination of the intersection of global and regional sociopolitical and economic issues and how these impact identity, practice and other dimensions of religion.

Though it is not required, students are strongly encouraged to have taken one of the following courses prior to the JT ’22 departure: RELS 110: Approaches to Religion or RELS 111: Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Prerequisite: Fall semester prior to JT '22 departure, students will be required to enroll and participate in the IDST 098 Orientation to International Study (1 credit).
