August 2021 update (scroll down for April 2021 summary of the survey administration)

All results of this survey were received by early summer. The analysis subcommittee of the Diversity and Equity Survey Team is currently working to develop a presentation of the overall results including challenges, strengths, and areas that need action. We hope to have a good working draft by the end of September. The overall team will then split up and present this work to groups within the Linfield community throughout the fall.

The team has changed membership a bit, welcoming new students to the committee and including a couple of people to work on the analysis. For more information, contact the Office of Institutional Research or any member of the Diversity and Equity Survey Team:

April 2021 update: survey administration summary

Thank you to the 791 individuals who responded to this survey. Your participation is deeply appreciated.

HEDS is currently (at this writing in April 2021) preparing the data for analysis and producing the first reports. Complete results from the Linfield community are anticipated in mid-to-late May. Comparison data from other schools is expected by the end of June. We anticipate that analyzing and distributing results from this survey will extend through the 2021-2022 academic year.

Linfield has been collaborating with the HEDS Consortium to administer the HEDS Diversity and Equity Survey in order to understand how current students, faculty, and staff perceive Linfield’s climate and the level of support for diversity and equity. In addition, Linfield leadership would also like to know whether and how often community members experience discrimination or harassment.

How was the survey conducted?

  • Current students, faculty, and staff at all Linfield locations received the survey by email.
  • The survey was available either through individual email (see first bullet point) as well as generic links in Linfield Ahead and on Blackboard (email address verification required). The survey was available in both English and Spanish and available on paper upon request.
  • Email sent from the Diversity and Equity Survey Team <Linfield_University@hedsconsortium.com>
  • Invitations were sent between February 21, 2021 and March 15, 2021.
  • Survey responses were voluntary and anonymous.
