Submitting your syllabus

All instructors are required to submit their syllabi through the online system. The deadline you are given ensures enough time for:

  1. Approval or edit requests by your Department Chair 
  2. Making your syllabus available for students at registration
  3. Ensuring that your books get ordered by the bookstore

When your syllabus is ready to be submitted for approval, log in to Etrieve with your CatNet ID.

  • Select FORMS > OCE SYLLABUS APPROVAL
  • Uploaded syllabi must be in PDF format. 
    • We recommend that you keep the original format available for editing and "Save As" a pdf to upload.

Etrieve Form:

Instructor:

  • Only submit one syllabus with this form.
  • Select the course for the syllabus you would like to submit.
  • Click on 'Attachments' at the bottom of the form to upload a pdf of your syllabus.
  • Use the comment box at the bottom of the form if you have notes for the liaison or OCE admin.
  • When complete click on 'Submit' the syllabus will be directed to the liaison for approval.
  • Once approved you will receive an email with the approved syllabus attached.
  • You will then be responsible to upload the approved syllabus to Blackboard.
Department Chair: 
  • Click "Attachment" on the bottom of the form, then click on the menu to the right of the attachment
  • Click on 'View' to read and view the pdf.
  • If you need to make edits you can 'Save As' to save the pdf to your computer, make the changes and save.
  • If you make changes to the syllabus be sure to upload a new attachment.
  • You can click on 'History' to create and save comments for OCE admin.
  • When you are ready to approve or decline the syllabus click on 'Approve' or 'Decline'.
  • If you are declining, make a comment in 'History' to let OCE admin know the reason for your decision.
  • OCE Admin will do any necessary edits or processing and will communicate with the instructor.
