Linfield uses an online submission system for proposals for new courses, changes to existing courses, course deletions and changes to a major or minor.
Prior to entering information into the online forms, you may want to fill out the “old” MS Word Course Proposal Form, Course Deletion Form, or Changes to Existing Course Form and then cut and paste the appropriate text into the online form. This will ensure that you do not lose any information should you encounter any network problems.
Before you submit any proposals, you should consult with your divisional representative to ensure that your proposal meets all of the necessary requirements:
September 20, 2020: Deadline for course proposals (new courses, changes to existing courses, and course deletions) for Spring 2021
October 2, 2020: Deadline for Final January Term 2022 off-campus course proposals
November 2, 2020: Deadline for significant changes to a major or minor for next catalog year
January 29, 2021: Deadline for PLACE Proposals for 2022-2023
February 8, 2021: Deadline for small changes to a major or minor for next catalog year
February 20, 2021: Deadline for course proposals for Summer 2021, Fall 2021, and January 2022
March 5, 2021: Deadline for Initial January Term 2023 off-campus proposals
The PLACE Working Group is formed as needed to evaluate faculty proposals for PLACE themes. The working group is responsible for reviewing PLACE theme proposals solicited by the Curriculum Committee, evaluating submissions based on established criteria, and making a recommendation to the Curriculum Committee.
The Curriculum Committee oversees eight Working Groups, who are responsible for Linfield Curriculum designations and assessment of Linfield Curriculum learning outcomes. These assessments are reported annually as part of the Faculty Teaching and Learning Lunch series.
