Already designed models
These are sites that provide pre-designed models for download and printing. Most are free to download; however, you may come across some models for which the designer charges.

3D modeling software
3D printers need an STL (STereoLithography) file to print. You can design objects in most any 3D modeling software, such as Solidwork or Rhino. There are also free 3D modeling software options. Some of these will require setting up an account or installing software.

- Meshmixer - 3D design software that allows you to mold a creation similar to working with clay
- Fusion 360 - a powerful program from Autodesk for which students can get a free license
